Lost 2-0 against Wentzville Timberline, making the season record 13-9-1.  JV won 2-0 with goals by Hannah Mantle and Lynna ("the Finisha") Wood, and the 4th shutout in a row by Mariah ("the Wind") McClain, making their season record 9-3-4.  Pictures here.

May 10:
Lost 1-0 against Springfield Kickapoo in a drizzling rain.  Season Record is now 13-8-1.  JV won 2-0, with goal by Kristen ("K-Fo") Foster (and one by them from a corner kick).  JV record now 8-3-4.  Pictures here.  News Tribune story here.

May 5:
Won 3-1 against Waynesville, with goals by Jenna Steiner, Kelsey Sanders, and Erica "E" Ferguson, with assists (to be added).  Season Record is 13-6-1.  JV won 4-0, with the shutout by Mariah McClain with solid defense by Kelsey Woodland, Abbey Campbell, and Kayla Nourse, and goals by Lynna Wood, Rachel Bates, and Jaymie Chapman (2). May 5:
Lady Jays ranked #10 in the State Class 2 poll, one higher than the last poll 2 weeks ago, and the highest for the team since the poll began in 2001.  See complete list here. District tournament seeds have been set, with the bracket here.

May 3:
Won 4-0 against Mexico, with goals by Jenna Steiner, Taylor ("Tank") Looten, Rashonda Stanley, and Megan Surls, and assists by Steiner, Kelsey "George" Sanders, Katie Denning, and Brittany Stegeman. Jessie Sanderson notched her 11th shutout of the season, helped by strong defensive efforts by Melinda Rickard, Caitlin Johnson, Sam Cummings, Stanley, and others.  Season record is now 12-6-1.  JV won 5-0 with goals by Lynna "knock on" Wood (2), Hannah Mantle, Kelsey "Woody" Woodland, and Kristen Stevens, with Mariah McClain in goal for the shutout.  JV season record is 6-3-4.  Pictures here.  News Tribune article here.

May 3: 
Several schedule changes made due to rainouts, starting with tonight's game vs. Mexico (Varsity at 5pm; JV therafter).  Updated schedule here.

May 1:
Varsity game rained out at Rolla. JV was able to get in a little over a half, but lost 1-0.  Season record: 5-3-4.

April 29
: Rained out vs. Hazelwood West.  Game to be made up Monday, May 8.

April 27
: Lost 1-0 against Helias, making the season record 11-6-1.  JC News Tribune article here. JV won 1-0, with the goal by Hannah Mantle.  Season record: 5-2-4.

April 25:
Won 4-0 against Sedalia, with goals by Jenna Steiner (2), Taylor Looten, and Rashonda Stanley.  Season Record - 11-5-1.  Jessie got her 9th shutout in goal.  JV won 1-0 with a goal by Dolores Ponder, making their season record 4-2-4.  Sorry, no pictures due to rain.  Article from JC News Tribune here.

April 22:
In the Championship game in the Capital City Tournament, the Lady Jays lost 3-0 to Lees Summit North to get 2nd place. Season record - 10-5-1. See pictures here.  See the News Tribune article here. The JV won their 3rd game 5-1, winning 2nd place in the Waynesville JV tournament, with goals by Mandy Lee (2 g, 1 assist), Lynna Wood (2), and Hannah Mantle making their season record 3-2-4.

April 22:
Won 1-0 against Park Hills South in the second game of the Capital City Tournament.  Goal by Emily Downing from an assist by Jenna Steiner.  Season Record 10-4-1.  See pictures here.  JV won the second game of the Waynesville JV tournament by 4-1, with goals by Lynna Wood (2) and Mandy Lee (2 g, 1assist).  Season Record: 2-2-4.

April 21:
Won 4-0 against Joplin in the first game of the Capital City Tournament.  Goals by Abbey Lloyd, Sasha Zimmerman-Lopez, Kelsey Sanders, and Taylor Looten, with assists by Emily Downing, Sanders, and Jenna Steiner, and Jessie notched her 8th shutout.  Season Record: 9-4-1  See pictures here, and see article about the tournament in the JC Tribune.   JV tied 0-0 in their first game of the Waynesville Tournament, making their season record 1-2-4. Mariah McClain was in goal for the JV's shutout.

April 21:
Lady Jays are ranked #11 in Poll #2 of the MO State HS Soccer Coaches Assn, issued today.  This is the highest ranking for the Lady Jays since the poll began in 2001.  See complete ranking here.

April 18
:  Beat Columbia Hickman 2-0 in a game that ended shortly after the start of the 2nd half due to lightning.  Goals were scored by Emily Downing from a pass from Jenna Steiner, and Rashanda Stanley scored on a header from a corner kick by Katie Denning.  Jessie had a remarkable game with numerous incredible saves, gaining her 7th shutout.  Season Record: 8-4-1.  JV lost 2-1, making their record 1-2-3.  See pictures here.  Article from the Columbia Tribune here, from the Columbia Missourian here, and from the JC Tribune here.

April 15:
At Quincy Notre Dame, the JV lost 2-0 and Varsity lost 3-0.  At Quincy High, the Varsity won 2-0 on goals by Jenna Steiner and Taylor Looten, with assists by Steiner and Kelsey Sanders, making their season record 7-4-1.  The JV tied 0-0 making their season record 1-2-3.  See pictures here.  Article from the Quincy newspaper here.

April 13:
Beat Hannibal 2-0 with both goals by Senior Midfielder Jenna Steiner.  Jessie Sanderson notched her 5th shutout.  Season Record 6-3-1.  JV tied 1-1, with the goal by Hannah Mantle for a season record of 1-1-2.  See pictures here.  Newspaper article from the JC Tribune here.

April 11:
Tied Rock Bridge 1-1 in 2 overtimes, with our goal by Rashonda Stanley from a corner kick by Katie Denning.  Great defensive effort by Melinda Rickard and the other defenders.  Season Record 5-3-1.  JV lost 1-0 for a season record of 1-1-1.  Pictures here.

April 8:
Lost the third game to Notre Dame on a shoot-out after tieing the game 1-1.  Kelsey Sanders scored from an assist by Taylor Looten in the first half, then Notre Dame scored on a 30 yard bullet in the upper left of the goal.  In the shoot-out, Notre Dame had 5 to our 4 goals. April 8:
Lost the second game of the Kickapoo Tournament to eventual tournament champion Visitation 1-0 on a closely played game.  Pictures here.  Pictures of the picnic and other things here.

April 7:
Won first game in the Kickapoo Tournament against Raytown South 2-1.  Winning goal scored with about 43 seconds remaining by Kelsey Sanders, who also scored the first goal at the 28 minute mark.  Pictures here.  Tomorrow's game is at noon.  Season Record: 5-1.

April 6:
Kickapoo Tournament starts tommorrow with a game at 4:30pm vs. Raytown South.  Tournament schedule here.  Directions here.  The teams in the tournament are Raytown South, Visitation , Glendale,  Notre Dame, Bentonville, Springfield Catholic, and Gibault.  Tournament website is here.  Go Lady Jays!

April 6:
Lady Jays are ranked #15 in the April 6 poll #1 of the Missouri State High School Soccer Coaches Association.  That's the highest ranking in this poll since the Lady Jays were ranked #15 in April, 2003.  Upcoming opponents that are in the top 20 include Columbia Hickman (#9), Rolla (#10), Springfield Kickapoo (#12), Columbia Rock Bridge (tie #16), and Hazelwood West (tie #16).  Ranked #1 is Incarnate Word of St. Louis.

April 4:
Varsity won 1-0 versus Moberly in the home opener on a goal by Kelsey Sanders.  Great defensive effort by the backs, with Jessie notching her 4th consecutive shutout. See article. Season Record: 4-1.  JV tied 0-0, with a great defensive effort led by Sweeper Kayla Nourse and Mariah McClain in goal for the shutout.  Season record for JV is 1-0-1. See Pictures.

March 30:
Game at Warrensburg rained out.

March 28:
At Camdenton, Varsity won 3-0, with goals by Jenna Steiner, Brittany Stegman and Kelsey Sanders. Jessie Sanderson stopped two shots on goal to record her third shutout.  Varsity season record: 3-1.  JV won 7-1, with goals by Abbey Lloyd (2), Emily Downing (3), Hannah Mantle, and Kristen Foster, and assists by Emily Downing (2).   JV season record: 1-0.   See Pictures.

March
25: Won 1-0 vs. Triad in 3rd game of Bi-State Shootout.  Kelsey Sanders had the goal for the Lady Jays midway through the second half, assisted by Megan Surls.  Jessie Sanderson stopped nine shots for her second shutout of the season.  Season Record:  2-1.

March
24: Won 3-0 vs. McClure North in 2nd game of Bi-State Shootout.  Andria Musso put the Lady Jays on the board with a goal in the first half, while teammates Erica Ferguson and Brittany Stegeman each scored a goal in the second.  Jessie Sanderson recorded the shutout for the Lady Jays.  Season Record: 1-1.

March
20: First game tonight in St. Louis in the Bi-State Shootout vs. St. Charles West. See Pictures.  Lost 1-0 in a hard-fought game.  Weather: 40 degrees, wind, and in the second half, rain.  Spring soccer in Missouri!

March 1
6:  Red and Black game.  Getting ready for the tournament on Monday, and ready for a great season!

March 10
: Practice moved to the morning so the team could watch the Lady Jay Basketball team play in the state final 4 in Columbia.  On Friday, the Lady Jays lost to eventual 1st place winner Incarnate Word, but won on Saturday to get 3rd in the state.  Congratulations for a great season!

February
27:  The Lady Jays started practice for the Spring 2006 season after weeks of pre-season conditioning, looking forward to another exciting season.  An eager group of veterans and freshman have been working hard, getting ready for the season opener on March 4 in the St. Louis Bi-State Shoot-Out tournament.

The Lady Jays are led by two returning All-State players:  Senior MidFielder Jenna Steiner and Junior Goalkeeper Jessie Sanderson.  Sophomore forward Kelsey Sanders was selected as the Central Region Offensive Player of the Year. 

Coach Chris Miller was selected as the 2005 Central Region Coach of the Year.

The Lady Jays are coming off a successful 2005 District Championship record of 17-8-2, and  finished in the top 20 in the final Class 2 state rankings
